Therapy allows you to focus on YOUR needs.
Maybe this is not the first time you have thought about seeking therapy but not taken the step to reach out to a professional. Do not continue to put off seeking help. THERAPY WORKS!
Maintaining your well-being is essential to having the life you want. You have been avoiding addressing your pain. Therapy is your space to find solutions to your challenges and explore past experiences that stop you from enjoying the present.
Therapy helps you sort through the difficult emotions, thoughts and experiences. Through therapy, you will learn how the beliefs about yourself and others keep stopping you from living the life you have always wanted.
I get it, and I have heard from some of my past and current clients that they did not start therapy sooner because they were afraid of being open with someone they didn’t know. Opening up can be scary, but healing begins by taking a step to talk about those painful experiences.
Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.
Tiptoe if you must, but take a step.

This space is judgment-free.
You might have tried to trust your friends or family members with a secret, and they disappointed you by sharing it. Therapy is your haven, offering a place to share what is causing your sadness without being judged.
During the initial appointment, some of my clients asked me where to begin because they had many challenges and did not know which to address first. The simple answer is to share whatever is on your mind now; we will handle every issue when you’re ready.
Therapy is your space to curse, yell without judgment, and then learn to express those emotions healthily.
You will use therapy to discuss scenarios, incidents, and options and explore ways to solve your challenges.
Every client has unique needs and expectations.
Some people need therapy for a longer time because of their circumstances while others will need therapy for a short period of time. Some prefer to start treatment to find a quick solution and stop therapy once the issue is solved. I will tailor your therapy to your unique needs.
I will ask you questions during therapy to help me understand your unique story. We’ll work together to develop your goals, find solutions, explore your past, work on accepting and letting go of what you cannot change, and learn to enjoy your present.
There is a reason why you’re reading this today. You need help! You are always helping others, but you never allow time for yourself. You cannot continue to live like this.
Contact me today, and let’s work together to discover how to achieve your goals.
About Evelyn Nankanja, LCSW, PMH-C
Hi, I’m Evelyn.
Helping people is my passion and the primary reason I became a therapist. I love learning and understanding how things work, so I feel drawn to understanding the relationship between the mind and body.
Some methods I use in therapy include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Family Systems, Problem-Solving Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. The design of these modalities helps you understand how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviors, how your past experiences are causing your current feelings, and the relationship between your body sensations and emotions.
I have training in perinatal mood disorders and experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate different life challenges to find purpose and meaning in life.
I will help you develop personalized plans to address your challenges. We will explore your past experiences and help you to identify the core beliefs you have acquired about yourself and others. You will receive the tools you need to overcome your beliefs and past.
As a result of our work, you should expect increased self-awareness, empowerment, and overall well-being.
Outside the realm of therapy, life is full of adventure.
I love taking walks with my dog Lia, spending time with family, and experiencing weekend getaways.
Life is a journey, and it would be my honor to accompany you on yours.
